Change News
This week, some Year 8 students helped harvest some of our wonderful vegetables that have matured over the summer months. They had lots of fun pulling up the carrots and seeing the different shapes that appeared from under the soil. There was huge variation in shape and size!
The students also picked tomatoes, courgettes and cut some huge butternut squash.
Year 9’s focused on learning knife skills in Food Tech with Mrs Budd and used the yellow carrots fresh from the garden as part of the ingredients to make coleslaw. Fresh and organic!
This is a huge objective achieved for the spade 2 spoon club, growing something from seed, looking after it, harvesting it and using it to make delicious food. We are grateful to Staverton Nursery for their kind donation of seeds and compost earlier this year to help with this project.
Thank you, Mrs Simon-House
